Shih Chieh Huang received his MFA from the School of Visual Arts, New York, in 2001. Selected grants and awards include: New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship (2007), Smithsonian Institute Artist Research Fellowship (2007), VIDA 9.0: The Art and Artificial Life International Competition, Fundacion Telefonica, Madrid, Spain (2006), Rockefeller Foundation Renew Media Arts Fellowship (2006). Huang’s work has been shown abroad at the places such as Museum of Contemporary Art Madrid, Valladolid, Gijon, Malaga, Burgos, MOCA Taipei, Kunsthanus Dresden Art Museum, and Gallery Mori in Japan. Past US exhibitions include shows at Queens Museum, New Museum, “Looking In”, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, PS-122, Exit Art, and Asian American Arts Council.
