From June 1 – 3, the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive and the Berkeley Center for new Media will host a three-day symposium and festival of new media. Timed to coincide with the 01SJ Festival, make plans to come spend the week in the Bay Area and be part of the biggest explosion of new media art in the nation.

  • Trevor Paglen MATRIX exhibition opening and artist talk at the Berkeley Art Museum
  • Lynn Hershman-Leeson: Virtually Everything, Virtually: An Almost Complete Retrospective of the Single Channel Works, 1977-1994, at the Pacific Film Archive
  • Jim Campbell installation on view at the Berkeley Art Museum

Monday, June 2

  • Embodied Media, the first of a two-part symposium, co-hosted by the Berkeley Art Museum and the Berkeley Center for New Media, in the Museum Theater
  • Scott Snibbe’s Falling Girl exhibition opens, presented by the Berkeley Art Museum

Tuesday, June 3

  • From Science to Art and Back in the Digital Age, the second of a two-part symposium, co-hosted by the Berkeley Art Museum and Leonardo: the Journal of Art, Science, and Technology, in the Museum Theater
